Maize or corn (Zea mays L.) is a high-yielding and an essential food crop after wheat and rice, available globally. Oral ingestion of maize can lead to IgE-mediated allergic reactions, like oral food allergy syndrome and even severe reactions, like anaphylaxis. Additionally, inhalation of maize flour at work, can lead to occupational asthma and rhino-conjunctivitis, while skin contact with it, can provoke allergic reactions, such as contact urticaria.
