The combined test for Chlamydia trachomatis, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Ureaplasma parvum, and Mycoplasma genitalium is a molecular biological assay designed to detect DNA of urogenital pathogens. It identifies the presence or absence of genetic material and is used for the diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections.

Chlamydia trachomatis - an obligate intracellular bacterial pathogen, the cause of chlamydia infection.
Ureaplasma urealyticum - a conditionally pathogenic microorganism from the Mycoplasmataceae family, associated with urogenital inflammation.
Ureaplasma parvum - part of the conditionally pathogenic flora, potentially involved in urogenital infections.
Mycoplasma genitalium - a bacterium without a cell wall, associated with urethritis and other urogenital inflammatory conditions.

Indications

  • symptoms of urogenital infections (discharge, itching, burning)
  • painful urination
  • urethritis

  • evaluation if partner is infected

Procedure
